I was sitting around the table with my friends in a restaurant, when suddenly one of them turned into a monster and tried to kill us, and we just escaped. Late that night, as I was trying to sleep something enters my room and when I look to see what it is, it’s a giant spider with a bull’s head. Terrified, I quickly open my window and jump out, with the creature right behind me. It chases me down the street, when I get an idea towards the bottom of the street. Suddenly, I turn around to face the monster, and as it’s about to reach me, I sidestep it and yank off one of its horns. Shocked, it disintegrates before my eyes, and I carefully walk back up to my house to go back to sleep. But when I wake up, I’m not in my bed anymore. I’m in a field, in the middle of nowhere, with about 100 other kids who are all as confused as I am. In those kids I spot one of my friends, Ben, who was there at the restaurant. We spot each other and meet in the middle, very confused. As we’re talking, an unseen voice starts speaking, saying that there are 3 objects hidden in a 5 square mile radius, and we must find them and put them in corresponding holders. But, while we are doing that, the voice tells us that a huge amount of monsters will be hunting us down as we go, and if we die, it’s real. The game begins, and me, Ben, and one other kid I don’t know race off up a hill in a direction no one else is going. Behind us, a mechanical grinch who can teleport has taken the first victim of the game, as his friends look in horror. However, me Ben and the other kid keep moving up the hill, finding that the playing area is so much bigger than we thought. We go down the hill on the other side and start searching in the jungle below, with no luck on the first day. We make sure one person stays awake at a time, to ensure that we can run if we have to. During the other kid’s shift, he wakes us up and tells us we need to keep moving, as the monsters are drawing closer. While we are on the run, however, we spot something in the trees and Ben climbs up to get it, and it turns out to be one of the three objects that the guy told us about. Now we need to rush it back to the area we woke up in and place it on its pedestal. We race back there, making sure to take a different route from the first time. As the pedestal enters our sight, something appears to our right and is moving swiftly towards us. None of us look to see what it is, we just keep moving towards the pedestal. I quickly look back and see an abomination that looks so horrible I couldn’t tell what it was. It turns out another kid has already found one object meaning once we put the one we have on the pedestal, there’s only one left. Ben takes it out of his pocket and places it on the pedestal, meaning there’s one left. We finally look back to see where the monster is, and we are horrified to see that it is very close. The random kid tells us to go and turns to face the thing, knowing he can’t defeat it. Me and Ben just start running back towards the hill, not looking back, even when we hear the screams of the poor kid who sacrificed his life to save us. As we are running back to the hill, we see a kid running back over it, and he has something in his hand. It’s the last object, but he is near surrounded by a huge amount of monsters, with more arriving by the second. Horrified, me and Ben run start towards the kid, trying to help. The kid spots us and decides to try something. As the monsters close in, he winds up and heaves the object in our direction, before he gets mauled by the monsters that have reached him. I run over to the object and pick it up, but the monsters are now closing in on me, and some of them are quick. I start racing towards the pedestal area, with Ben by my side, not looking back, but hearing their footsteps drawing nearer. The pedestals are just 50 feet away, but the monsters are so close. Me and Ben look at each other, and a plan concocts in our minds at the same time. I begin to slow, and let him race ahead of me. As the monsters are about to close on me, I toss him the object, which I see him pick up but nothing else because the monsters are on me. I protect myself as much as I can, but they are starting to tear at me and I am beginning to bleed a lot. As I get ready to accept I’m going to die, all goes silent. I open my eyes to see what happened, but the monsters are gone. I struggle to my feet, looking for them, but they are just gone. What I do see, however, is too many dead bodies. Blood stains the once beautiful field, and I’m disgusted by it. I then hear running footsteps behind me, and I turn to see Ben sprinting in my direction. I let him come and we embrace, both of us with tears in our eyes. We are sobbing, and don’t even try to hide it from each other. We talk about what happened, we both have no clue how the creatures just disappeared without a trace. We look around to see that there are less than half of the kids we started with. We sit together for a long time, not saying anything, when out of nowhere, we hear a low rumbling noise from behind us. We both turn to see a whirlpool looking disturbance on the ground, and we are both confused by it. Kids have started to gather around it, and one kid decides to jump in, which causes him to disappear. Many kids follow, and me and Ben are the last ones left here, we look around at all the dead bodies, and find the kid who was with us in the beginning. His body is mangled, and I can’t help but look away. Me and Ben look at each other, give each other a nod, and jump in. Everything goes to black. When I come back to, I am in the bed of a hospital. I was found on my bed the previous night, torn up and bleeding everywhere. I look to see that my phone is by my side, and I see that the group chat with my friends is exploding, asking what the hell happened and why I was in the hospital. I won’t tell them for a while, though. When I get discharged, my parents drive me back to my house, not speaking a word the entire way. When I get back though, I see 2 strange things in my backyard. The first is a rubber duck, bigger than usual, and I have no idea what to make of it. The second is a whirlpool right next to my shed, the same kind that took me back. I tell my parents I will be right back and jump in it, appearing right back in the field where it happened. Although, the bodies are all cleaned up, the field is cleaned, and the pedestal is gone. I jump back through, making a mental note to spend some time in there at a later date. When I get back, I go into my house to see Ben there waiting for me, and we hug each other tightly, knowing that we will be the only ones around that know what happened that day in the field of death.
